A database or structured document used to manage applications throughout their lifecycle. The application portfolio contains key attributes of all applications. The application portfolio is sometimes implemented as part of the service portfolio, or as part of the configuration management system.

An application portfolio is a collection of applications that an organization uses to fulfill its business needs. It includes both existing applications and those that are in development, and it provides an overview of the organization's IT capabilities. The application portfolio can be used to assess the performance of existing applications, identify gaps in functionality, and prioritize new development projects.
